You’re Invited! HPF w/ NIN

If you’ve been keeping up with the blog prior to its latest incarnation – or me for any length of time – you know that I’m a huge fan of infrared heat. Beyond traditional external heat, infrared goes a step further to soothe aching muscles and joints and help you heal from the inside out. I’ve been sitting in infrared saunas for the better half of a decade, ideally several times a week. It’s amazing for recovery post workout and a safe space for me to truly turn inside and calm my chattering mind.

I’ve been teaching several forms of yoga in an infrared studio for several years, and have constantly bugged them about bringing a Hot Power Fusion practice to the space. It’s an official practice combining Bikram and Hatha poses, for deep joint compression and release and a deep muscle stretches. This week, they finally said yes!

It’s a one-off (a special class) to see how students feel about it. I’m over the moon! Especially because I predict that they’ll love it. Here are the details:

  • OCTOBER 31st: 4:30pm
  • SWEATHEORY: 1503 N. Cahuenga Blvd. Hollywood, CA

The space is small and intimate, meaning we can only fit about 12 bodies in there. It works because the practice is designed to push you ‘inside’ of yourself to help calm you mind while also addressing common joint and muscle complaints. Because the class is on Halloween, I’m setting the tone to NIN (Nine Inch Nails). I chose the band to create a cocoon of sound to further facilitate the practice.

The goal of this class is to help students take a moment for themselves to heal from the inside out. We’re in the throes of Holiday Madness, and it’s easy for time and our general common sense and sanity to get away from us. If you’re in the area and you’d like to join us, feel free to stop by! You can learn more details on our WEBSITE, and register for this special class on the SWEATHEORY app.
